As the tension intensifies at Ladakh, the role of Ordnance Factory Board (OFB) becomes critical in providing the Indian Army timely supplies of key items. In these challenging times, mjunction services limited, India’s largest B2B e-commerce company, launched its new e-procurement system for the OFB, which will be used by more than 22,000 users spread all over the world, including the US and European countries.
For the first time, OFB will use a completely online end-to-end procurement cycle starting from placing the Purchase Request right up to payment. The process will include vendor management, tender management, Purchase Order management, dispatch management, bill payment and evaluation by Technical Committee and Purchase Committee from cross functional units.
The new portal was e-launched by DGOF and Chairman OFB Mr Hari Mohan amid the widespread Covid crisis, which was also attended by mjunction MD and CEO Mr Vinaya Varma and other top OFB officials.
A senior OFB executive said, “This is a great example of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ where design, development and implementation of end-to-end e-procurement solution have been done in India and for India. This exemplifies the objective of OFB to propagate its core values of transparency and efficiency in procurement, thereby easing the business transactions of thousands of suppliers virtually in spite of present challenges of global pandemic.”
Mr Varma said, “Our new platform is richer with a host of other functionalities which we have included in keeping with OFB’s needs. It is also faster, user friendly and more secure. With its in-built advanced Analytics tools, we expect it to become a key strategic decision-making tool for OFB.”
Whereas many government organisations now use e-procurement, OFB will be the first to use a world class platform that offers end-to-end digitisation capabilities covering the entire procurement cycle. This makes the system a one-stop destination for all of OFB’s procurement needs.
mjunction has signed a seven-year Operations & Maintenance contract with OFB to develop, deploy and maintain this e-procurement platform that will be used by OFB’s entire ecosystem including all suppliers, 41 Ordnance factories, Ordnance Factory Institute of Learning and all regional marketing offices. It won the contract through an open tender floated by OFB.
